Mr. Ronald Hugo "Ronnie" Bafile, age 86 of Dahlonega passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Born June 8, 1933 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to parents Hugo and Nina Spigarelli Bafile, Ronnie had lived most of his life in Dahlonega, first coming here when he was stationed as a U.S Army Ranger. He went on to serve his country in the Korean Conflict. Ronnie had the difficult task of keeping his boys together following the death of his wife, Daisy Lee Cantrell in 1974 and was proud he was able to do so. He retired from North Georgia College (UNG) after 20 years of service and most recently, attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding the forest service roads in the mountains.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by sisters; Gloria Bafile, Evelyn Charzn, Janette Burns, Corine Munn and Sophia Bafile, a brother; Bobby Bafile. He was also preceded by special friend, Jeannette Anderson. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; Stan and Sadie Bafile, Michael and Freida Bafile and Greg and Kim Bafile, all of Dahlonega, grandchildren; Ron Bafile of Cleveland, Ridge and Heather Bafile, Luke Bafile, Suzanne and Jamie Hitt, Evan and Mariah Bafile, Kassie Bafile, Taylor and Josh Budai, all of Dahlonega and Casi and Stacy Bailey of Cumming. Surviving great-grandchildren are Kasen Budai and Lindsey and Kelvin Bafile. He is also survived by his step mother, Giacoma Bafile and his sister and brother in law, Matilda (Mike) Rossatto, both of Norway, Michigan.
Ronnie's wishes were to be cremated.
Due to Corona virus concerns, a graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date.
