Mary Ann Waggoner (nee Coughlin) passed away peacefully at her home on April 21, 2020, at the age of 88.
Mary Ann is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Waggoner, and daughter Patricia A. Waggoner.
She is also predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Coughlin, her sister Noreen Shraven (Robert), and brother William Coughlin.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Waggoner (Rosemary), Gary Waggoner (Cindy), and Timothy Waggoner (Maria); and her daughter, Mary Beth Glynn (Patrick). Mary Ann is lovingly remembered by her ten grandchildren: Justin Walker (Holly), Jennifer Johnson (Zach), Courtney Babcock (Sean), Andrew Waggoner, Evan Waggoner (Gwen), Molly Carriero (Mike) Amanda Waggoner, Sydney Waggoner, Parker Waggoner and Liam Glynn; and 5 great-grandchildren. Mary Ann is also survived by her sister Sally Redden (Jerry).
Mary Ann was born and raised in Buffalo NY. After marrying Bill, she and her family moved around the country due to Bill’s Military Service and job. Mary Ann was a homemaker for many years, taking care of her children. Later in life, she enjoyed careers in fashion retail, and also at the Brick House Rehabilitation, in Syracuse NY. Mary Ann was very interested in home decorating, and always had impeccable taste. She was also interested in fashion, fitness, and gardening and shopping. After Bill’s retirement, they both enjoyed going to the gym, traveling, playing golf, and attending live theatre performances. Mary Ann also earned the honor of getting a hole in one during a golf outing, and was very proud of her achievement. Mary Ann was well known as being a woman who was very spiritual with strong convictions; and she was a feisty and determined woman, very proud of her Irish heritage, who never backed down from any challenge she faced. A visitation and prayer service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Father Jack Durkin officiating.
