Joy Elaine Miller Moore

Mrs. Joy Elaine Miller Moore age 78 of Westminster, South Carolina passed away Thursday April 23, 2020 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Charlie and Essie Marcengill Miller, she was born May 12, 1941 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived all of her life in the Old Madison Community. She was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church and was a choir member. She cared for many children in the community. She was preceded in death by a brother Jim Miller and sister Colleen Williams.

Survivors include her husband Jim Moore of the home, son and daughter in law Jamie and Tina Moore of Westminster, daughter Kathy Hawthorne, four grandchildren Alex, Eli, Ashton Moore and Samuel Hawthorne, brothers Tommy Miller of Blairsville, Georgia, Benny Miller of Westminster, and Marvin Miller of Easley, South Carolina, sisters Carol McAlister of Fairplay, South Carolina, Myra Odell and Ellen Price of Westminster.

A private family cryptside service will be held Sunday at 3 P.M. at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Reverend Mark Nelson officiating.

Due to the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation. Please keep the family in your prayers in the coming days.
