Mr. Jerry Donald Vaughan age 85 of Flowery Branch, Ga passed away Thursday April 23, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Graveside services are scheduled for Sunday April 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Phil Carpenter and Rev. Chris Vaughan will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday April 26, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to the current pandemic of COVID- 19 and the mandate from the Governor, only 10 people are allowed into a room at a time.
Jerry was born on June 09, 1934 in Hall County, Ga to the late C.E. Vaughan and Eunice Fay Hosch Vaughan. He was retired from Real Estates Business and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Jerry was the owner and operator of J. Von gun shop, Vaughan Realty, Jerico Oil Supply and Jerry’s Barbeque in Daytona Beach, Florida, before retiring, Jerry was instrumental in starting Smokehouse Barbeque in Oakwood, GA. Jerry ran for the Commissioner’s office twice, one time as a chairman of the commissioner’s and the next time just a commissioner. He was also a veteran of The United States Army and The United States Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Donnie Vaughan.
Mr. Vaughan is survived by his children, Rae Vaughan of Gainesville, Chad Vaughan of Flowery Branch, Wauka Vaughan of Gainesville, wife for 55 years, Wayne Vaughan of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Bonnie Vaughan of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Joanne Vaughan of Gainesville, brother-in-law, Jim Delong of Gainesville, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
