Mr. Franklin "Frank" Delano Hope, age 82, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Mr. Hope was a native and lifelong resident of Dahlonega. He was born on May 26, 1937 to the late W.A. Hope and Ina Jarrard Hope. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Blackwell; siblings, Hazel Gilreath, Sara Day, Wilma Ramey, Faith Hope, Janice Hope, Bob Hope and Anderson Hope; and ex-wife, Nellie Hope.
Those who knew Frank best will always remember him as being a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a loyal member of Yahoola Baptist Church where he was always the first one to arrive anytime the doors were open. Although Yahoola was Frank’s home church, he always enjoyed traveling around the North Georgia mountains and listening to the Gospel being preached at different church revivals.
Frank is survived by children, Ina (Jonathan) Wise of Dahlonega, and Rebecca "Becky" (Jeff) Gee of Dahlonega; siblings, JW Hope of Dahlonega, Bill (Elaine) Hope of Dahlonega, Joanne (Mike) Smith of Gillsville, Jonnie (Ronnie) Sherfield of Dawsonville, and Joyce Hope of Dahlonega; also 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in the parking lot of Yahoola Baptist Church. The church was very important to Mr. Hope and the family is asking if you attend to remain in your cars as the service will be amplified. Rev. Kris Butler, Rev. Terry Head and Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. A private interment will follow in the church cemetery.
