Ms. Betty Jean Brady Smith, age 87, of Toccoa passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Wilkinson Center in Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Broadus and Beulah Burrell Brady, she was born April 23, 1932 in Banks County, Ga. and lived in Stephens County all of her life. Mrs. Smith was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she put family first and enjoyed caring for them. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening, especially growing and caring for her flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William Smith, by a sister, Vernelle DeFoor, and by a brother, Morris Brady.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Robby Moon of Commerce, Ga., by a son, Douglas W. Smith of the home, by two grandchildren, Brady (Clark) Bryan of Columbus, Ga. and Andy Moon of Atlanta, Ga., by twin great grandchildren, Blakely and Blair Bryan, by a sister, Opal Shearin of Toccoa, by a brother, Marvin Brady of Toccoa, by a step daughter, Carolyn Kendrick of Toccoa, and by many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020, 2:00 P.M., at the Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Fish officiating.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
