Albert B. Wurtz, Jr., age 76 of Commerce, GA passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family.
Born on Jan. 11, 1944 in Fort Scott, KS, Mr. Wurtz was the son of the late David Everett and Dorthy Edith McMillen Burris. He was a welder with Fowler Products, of the Baptist faith. “Brother Daddy” was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Commerce and Jefferson, GA, a member of North American Hunting and Fishing Clubs, and was a United States Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jacob and Charlotte McMillen.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Sue Wurtz of 49 years, of the residence; son, Benjamin Everett Wurtz (Lori); daughters, Roxana Mae Sage (Kevin), Rebecca Sue Griffin (Dennis), Debra Elaine Wurtz (David); brothers, David Burris, Larry Burris, James Burris, Charles Burris, Carl Burris, Tom Burris, Dennis Burris, Dwayne Burris; sisters Evelyn Capehart, Nora Newby; 10 grandchildren, K.C., Rachel, Jeremy, Jay, Dallas, Dakota, Layne, J.T., Kanyon, Nicholas; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Standridge Family Cemetery, Clermont, GA. Visitation will be held 10 am until 2 PM Saturday at Ivie Funeral Home to allow for social distancing under the State of Georgia guidelines.
