Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Joyce Lanelda Clark Ruis, age 78, of Jefferson, Georgia, who entered into rest on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Mrs. Ruis was born in Blackshear, Georgia, a daughter to the late Archie and Lula Mae Rowland Clark. Mrs. Ruis was a homemaker and was secretary of Tile Incorporated she helped run with her husband. Mrs. Ruis was of the Church of God faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ruis was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jurell “Peanut” Ruis and grandchild Courtney Shea Robinson.
Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Clark and her husband Gene of Jefferson, Lynn Shirley and her husband Paul of Clarkesville, Susan Tuggle-Hansird of Jefferson, sons, Eric Ruis of Jefferson, Chris Ruis and his wife Cassie of Jefferson; sisters, Mary Clark Strickland and Jeannette Clark Howard both of Blackshear; grandchildren, Lindsey Moore, Mehgan Tuggle, Alex Shirley, Evan Shirley and his wife Alexas, Madlyn Hansird, Dakota Ruis, Reese Ruis, Rylee Ruis; great grandchildren, Skler Grace Robinson, Hannah Moore, Ansley Moore; and a longtime friend, Louise Mayfield of Winder also survive.
Due to the current health care situation concerning the Coronavirus and restrictions imposed by the State of Georgia and the CDC, a private family visitation period will be held. A Private Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson.
