Mrs. Evelyn Kassell Stow, age 89, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020.
Mrs. Stow was born in Atlanta on August 21, 1930 to the late Leon White and Eva Kassell. She was the last of her siblings who all preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband Cyrus J. Stow and daughter Kristina Watkins. Mrs. Stow retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital serving in the accounts department for more than 30 years. In her retirement years she had her favorite television shows to watch, crossword puzzles to complete, and all the shopping she could do in a day’s time. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Stow was known as “Grammy” by those who loved her most.
Survivors include her sons Kenneth Riggle and Kevin Riggle; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Dennis Holland, Dahlonega; grandchildren Billy Duckworth, Alexandra Mahaffey (Adam), Robert Duckworth, Kristi Duckworth Parker, James Thurmond, and Ashley Riggle; and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stow’s wishes were to be cremated and the family has chosen to remember her every day with memories they hold close to their hearts.
