Only one region game is slated for Monday as it's non-region day for northeast Georgia area softball teams.
Union County in Region 7-2A will stage a region contest, traveling to North Cobb Christian. But no games will be bigger than the showdown of ranked teams and state runners-up in 2024 than when Buford heads to take on Cherokee Bluff in Flowery Branch.
The Lady Wolves (10-0) are ranked No. 1 in Class 6A while the Lady Bears (6-2) are ranked fifth in Class 3A. Buford was the 2024 Class 6A state runner-up while Bluff was the Class 3A state runner up in 2024.
Lumpkin County, (12-3), ranked eighth in Class 3A, will play host to North Oconee (5-8) on Monday looking to extend its five-game winning streak.
