Barrow County judge denies Colin Gray's motion to suppress evidence in upcoming trial

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter
A Barrow County Superior Court Judge has denied a motion to suppress evidence in the upcoming trial for the father of the alleged Apalachee High School shooter.

An order filed by Judge Nicholas Primm Tuesday said that although the motion for the evidence to not be used in Colin Gray’s trial is denied, the evidence will remain sealed from the public in order to safeguard the defendant’s right to a fair and impartial jury.

Colin is accused of allowing his son, Colt, access to the firearm that was supposedly used in the September 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School that killed four and injured nine others. He faces a total of 29 charges, including murder in the second degree and cruelty to children in the second degree.

Colin’s trial was initially set to begin on Sept. 8, 2025, but was postponed due to his attorneys having conflicting trials in Fulton County at that time. A new trial date has not yet been set.
