Two people from North Carolina were arrested on Saturday, Aug. 2, after a traffic stop on Highway 17 and Highway 76 in Towns County.
The Towns County Sheriff's said Kimberly Jo Allison, 42, and Brandon Taylor, 30, both of Hayesville, NC, were stopped by drug investigators and K-9 Dargo.
During the stop, investigators developed probable cause leading to a search of the vehicle. An amount of methamphetamine that field-tested positive was allegedly found and confiscated along with weapons.
Allison was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine, possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes and possession and use of drug-related objects.
Taylor was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes, receipt, possession, or transport of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender and possession and use of drug-related objects.
Evidence was presented to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to search the suspect's home on Town Mountain Road.
A search of the home by the CCSO resulted in the confiscation of another amount of methamphetamine along with weapons and drug paraphernalia.
