JEFFERSON, Ga. — Jefferson opened its 2025 season in impressive fashion sweeping Woodward Academy in a doubleheader at home on Friday.
The Lady Dragons took a 12-0, four-inning win in the first game and followed with a 16-1, three-inning win in the second game.
In the first game, Braelynn Vandiver and Lexi Bishop combined on a one-hitter in the circle.
That was more than enough as the offense scored five in the first, three in the second, and sealed it with three more in the fourth. Jenna Rapp and Ally Baldwin combined for four hits and three RBI to lead the offense.
In the second game, Rapp belted a pair of home runs and drove in four as the Lady Dragons (2-0) used a 10-run second inning to blow it open. Baldwin and Abbie Kinlaw also each hit a home run and drove in five runs combined. Addi Hester added a two-run triple as well for Jefferson.
KristiAna Truelove got the complete-game win, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out seven in three innings.
Jefferson will be back in action at home on Tuesday against Lanier.

HABERSHAM CENTRAL 0 (5 inn)
Peyton Gaylor struck out 12 batters and surrendered just two hits to lead the Lady Leopards to a shutout win in five innings at home on Friday.
Ruth Cote had three hits and two RBI to lead the Banks County offense. Marley McDaniel had two hits, including an RBI double, and Braelee Crider had one hit and drove in three for the Lady Leopards.
Banks County scored four runs in the first, three in the second, and four more in the third.
The Lady Leopards next will travel to Stephens County on Tuesday. Habersham Central will play host to Franklin County on Tuesday.
