For many in Northeast Georgia, this is the final weekend before students go back to school. That means the last weekend of summer break for many, and there are plenty of ways to get out and have fun around the region.

Name: Braselton Police Foundation 5K

Location: Braselton Brother’s Department Store Building, 9924 Davis St., Braselton
Details: The Braselton Police Foundation raises funds to provide equipment and financial support to the Braselton Police Department and to individual officers in need. The Foundation is additionally working with BPD so they can expand their initiatives to institute an array of public safety initiatives. Details: Enjoy a movie under the stars. This month’s movie is “Happy Feet” (rated PG). The evening kicks off with a high-energy performance by the 3rd Stream Band on the Main Stage from 6–8PM, blending pop, rock, funk, and R&B into an unforgettable musical set. Then, at 8PM, head to the top of Town Green for a stunning short performance by Liquid Sky, immediately followed by a screening of the animated hit Happy Feet on the big screen. From 6-9 p.m., all ages can enjoy “Bubbles Over GA,” interactive photo ops, penguin crafts and more. Admission is free and open to the public! Name: Boys in the Band, Alabama Tribute, Cumming
