SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Spencer Ralston put together a solid 4-under par 68 to open the Price Cutter Charity Championship on Thursday and Friday.
The Gainesville native began his opening round on Thursday and sat at 3-under before play was suspended due to darkness at Highland Springs Country Club. He got to 5-under after birdies at Nos. 1, 6, 7, 8, and 13 and was in the top 20 at that point.
But he posted back-to-back bogeys at 14 and 15 before closing out the round early Friday morning with a birdie at No. 17.
Once again it’s a very bunched field with the leader, Chandler Blanchet of Gainesville, Fla., sitting at 10-under. Ralston will tee off at 9:51 a.m. to begin his second round with the projected cutline sitting at 4-under par.
