A Flowery Branch man is facing charges of aggravated sexual battery after a domestic dispute early Sunday, Jun. 15.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the 5800 block of Silverhorn Drive off Lights Ferry Road at around 5:45 a.m.
Mathew Edwin Sheridan, 66, locked the adult female victim out of the house after they had an argument.
According to the sheriff’s office, Sheridan took the victim’s house keys, damaged her wig and cursed and yelled at her while telling her to leave. The victim then left the house.
“The initial investigation also determined that Sheridan committed aggravated sexual battery (felony) against the victim at the residence,” the sheriff’s office said.
Sheridan allegedly committed misdemeanor sexual battery against the victim at the house during a previous incident.
Sheridan was arrested and charged with felony aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery, criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act, theft by taking and disorderly conduct.
He remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
Authorities did not give specific details on what led to the sexual battery charges.
