CWS set to begin Friday with 5 former champs, 1 newcomer in the 8-team field

OMAHA, Neb. — The 2025 College World Series is set to get under way on Friday with two SEC teams, 1 ACC, team, three former Pac 12 members, and one first-timer to the annual tournament.

Five former CWS winners are among the ight-team field -- LSU, Oregon State, Arizona, UCLA, and Coastal Carolina -- with Murray State making its first-ever CWS appearance after beating Duke on Monday in the Durham Super Regional.

Three of the top eight seeds entering the tournament -- Arkansas, LSU, and Oregon State -- advanced through but the top two seeds -- Vanderbilt and Texas -- both were knocked off before the Super Regional round.
