A 31-year-old man’s body was discovered in the roadway of a Gainesville neighborhood this weekend.
That’s according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) who is continuing its investigation into the early Sunday morning incident.
HCSO officials report that they responded to the intersection of McConnell Drive and Mountaincrest Drive near the Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport Sunday at 3:30 a.m.
A 9-1-1 caller reported hearing a crash and finding an unresponsive victim in the road who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was transported for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
HCSO says it is unclear if a vehicle struck the victim and left the roadway or if the man collapsed and died on the roadway.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until his next-of-kin are notified.
Roadways in the area were closed for over three hours following the incident.
