A Gainesville man reportedly fled the scene of an injury crash in northwest Hall County Tuesday night.
Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators said the wreck happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Price Road near Old Cool Springs Road.
"The driver of an SUV was traveling northbound on Price Road...when he exited the roadway and crashed into a utility pole," sheriff's office officials said. "The driver, identified as Dalton Mullinax, 19, of Gainesville, got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot."
A female passenger in the SUV reportedly had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with what authorities called non-life-threatening injuries. She has since been released from the hospital.
Deputies searched the area for Mullinax, but were not able to find him. While no charges have formally been filed against Mullinax, the sheriff's office said he is "expected to face multiple traffic charges once the crash investigation is complete."
The crash scene left Price Road closed from 8:30 p.m. Tuesday until 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The closure was extended due to Jackson EMC having to replace the damaged utility pole.
