An earthquake near the Tennessee-North Carolina border caused shaking to be felt in North Georgia Saturday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.1 magnitude quake southeast of Greenback, Tennessee just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Several Northeast Georgia residents reported to AccessWDUN that shaking could be felt in various parts of the region.
Maps by the USGS showed that shaking could be felt as far south as northern DeKalb County in Metro Atlanta. AccessWDUN readers reported feeling shaking in areas including Buford, Clarkesville, Clermont, Cleveland, Coal Mountain, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Lula and Winder.
No damage has been reported in North Georgia as of 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
