After nine years of service to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), a first lieutenant has left to become the Chief of Police for the Commerce Police Department (CPD).
Lieutenant Jeff Drossman was sworn in on Wednesday and will begin his tenure on May 12.
In a Facebook post, HCSO called it a “bittersweet farewell.”
CPD’s post said that Drossman is joining after 20 years in law enforcement between HCSO, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Auburn and Monroe Police Departments.
Drossman has held supervisory and leadership roles between uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, jail operations, and specialized units.
“We wish him the very best at the helm of [the] Commerce Police Department!” HCSO said in their post.
