Deputies in Stephens County apprehended a South Carolina man wanted in Michigan for charges of aggravated assault on a police officer.
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that authorities responded to a residence in Eastanollee in reference to a verbal domestic dispute on April 5.
Before deputies arrived on scene, the suspect, Brandon Worden, 36 of West Union, S.C., feld from the home near Old Highway 17 into a wooded area. Dispatchers ran Worden’s information through the National Crime Information Center and informed deputies that Worden had the active warrants out of Michigan.
On scene, deputies deployed a K-9 to track Worden. Authorities then found him lying in the grass near the residence and apprehended him.
He was transported to the Stephens County Jail where he is awaiting extradition.
