By Will Daughtry News Reporter

A man has been extradited from Texas to the Hall County Jail on charges of rape and child molestation.

The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) reports that 31-year-old Eduard Steven Quinones was arrested after two girls reported to Texas officials that they had been molested by their stepfather.

The two girls, ages 12 and 15, allege they were touched inappropriately in Gainesville and Fort Stockton, Texas, where they currently reside.

The alleged abuse in Gainesville occurred roughly three years ago at a family residence in Georgia.

GPD worked with the Fort Stockton Police Department and the Texas Department of Family and Children’s Services on the case.

Warrants were obtained on Quinones in Gainesville. He was arrested in Texas and extradited to Georgia.

Quinones remains in the Hall County Jail on two charges of rape, four charges of aggravated child molestation, and one count of child molestation. He remains in jail without bond.

The case remains active and ongoing.
