By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A Hiawassee man will spend 25 years-to-life behind bars following this week's conviction on several sexual violence charges.

Towns County Sheriff's Office is reporting that 32-year old Tanner Boyd has pled guilty to multiple counts of aggravated child molestation following their initial investigation from June of 2024 on charges for rape and aggravated sodomy.

The TCSO's social media page says Boyd was charged for reportedly molesting a now 13-year-old victim from the time the victim was nine years-old on instances in Towns County and other jurisdictions.

On Monday, Boyd pled guilty to aggravated child molestation in both Towns and White County, receiving a sentence of life in prison, serving a minimum 25 years.
