OAKWOOD, Ga. — Johnson scored six second half goals to pull away for a 6-1 win over Lumpkin County on Tuesday in a battle for second place in Region 6-3A.
The two teams battled to a 0-0 draw in the first half despite 19 shots by Johnson. The Lady Indians managed just 1 shot in opening 40 minutes.
But the Lady Knights exploded in the second half. Bridget Higgins had two goals and Shelby Robinson, Cynthia Rivera, Alondra Ruiz, and Gissel Garcia all scored once for Johnson.
Lumpkin County's only goal came from Kaitlyn Johnson off a corner kick from Rileigh Raftelis.
