By Will Daughtry News Reporter

Over $12,000 worth of methamphetamine was seized by Hall County authorities on Thursday.

That’s according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), who arrested 43-year-old Kelly Leif Ward of Gainesville in relation to the meth seizure.

Authorities report they went to Ward’s residence off of Dawsonville Highway on Thursday.

A search warrant was executed on the residence on Rock Ridge Drive at around 6 p.m.

There, investigators found roughly 17-grams of meth and roughly $7,000 in cash.

Ward was arrested at the home and charged with trafficking meth and possession of meth with intent to distribute.

At the home, 55-year-old Ronald Scott Dowling of Dahlonega was arrested due to a probation violation but was not charged in connection to the drug case.

He remains booked in the Hall County Jail without bond.
