A Gainesville man was recently arrested on methamphetamine trafficking charges after a joint investigation between Hall and Madison County authorities.
The Hall County Sherriff’s Office said that Trevor Wade Southers, 24, was a passenger in an SUV pulled over on Thursday, March 20, at Mundy Mill Road and Creekside Place.
Deputies reportedly found close to 2.3 pounds of methamphetamine in the vehicle. The street value of the drugs was nearly $78,200.
Special Investigations Unit investigators determined that the drugs belonged to Southers.
Investigators then learned about methamphetamine at a residence in Madison County.
“They provided the intelligence to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, whose personnel concurrently conducted their own March 20 investigation,” HCSO officials said in a press release.
MCSO arrested a suspect and seized close to four pounds of methamphetamine, several firearms and cash.
Southers remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
