A wreck that left the northbound side of I-985 shut down just north of Oakwood Wednesday afternoon also left several people injured.
A report from the Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened just north of Exit 17 at Atlanta Highway, just before 4:00 p.m. Three vehicles were involved, with the crash happening when two of them slowed down for traffic and were allegedly hit by the third vehicle that was following behind.
The at-fault vehicle, a red Ford F-150 pickup truck, overturned and landed on the driver's side on the guardrail of the interstate. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the F-150, Travis Roland, age 66 of Gainesville, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for injuries and was cited for following too closely.
Both people in the middle vehicle, including a woman who was reportedly pregnant, were also taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The driver of the third vehicle reportedly suffered a visible injury, but was not hospitalized.
Georgia State Patrol officials said none of the injuries were life-threatening.
The crash left the northbound side of I-985 shut down in the area for around an hour.
