Another light schedule for Wednesday on the diamond, but like Monday, several key games could held shape several regions around northeast Georgia.
Buford took the opening of a three-game series against Mill Creek and the two teams' will move to Gerald McQuaig Field on Wednesday for Game 2 with the fourth-ranked Wolves (13-4, 9-1 Region 8-6A) looking to clinch the series against the unranked Hawks (10-7, 9-1 Region 8-6A).
One of the hottest teams going right now is Gainesville in Region 7-5A. The Red Elephants (7-12, 5-5 Region 7-5A) have won 5 of their last 6, including a win over Class 5A sixth-ranked Seckinger (13-6, 8-2 Region 7-5A) on Monday. They will be at Ivey-Watson on Wednesday, where they will have a chance to keep climbing the standings and clinch the series with the Jaguars.
In Region 6-6A, North Forsyth (11-7, 4-5 Region 6-6A) has dropped to sixth place, one-half game behind both Lambert (8-11-5 Region 6-6A) and North Atlanta (10-7, 5-5 Region 6-6A). The Raiders lost their opening game against Forsyth Central (7-11, 4-6 Region 6-6A) and will be on the road on Wednesday against the Bulldogs.
In Region 8-5A, Jackson County (10-8, 3-3 Region 8-5A) dropped into a three-way for third place with Winder-Barrow (10-11, 4-4 Region 8-5A) and Apalachee (7-11, 4-4 Region 8-5A). The Panthers have another huge task, taking on third-ranked Loganville (13-3, 6-0 Region 8-5A) on Wednesday to open a two-game series.
