ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia's offensive production continued on Tuesday as the No. 3 Bulldogs rolled past West Georgia, 13-6, at Foley Field.
Georgia jumped out to an early 9-0 lead, powered by Nolan McCarthy's career-high 5 RBIs, all coming in the first three innings.
Sophomore Dan Jackson (2-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI) blasted two home runs, marking his fifth and sixth of the year. The Bulldogs now have eight players with five or more home runs this season and are leading the NCAA with 74 home runs.
"I just feel like this team takes things day by day," McCarthy said about his team's mindset. "We prepared for West Georgia today and last weekend is over with, so we can't think about that. Dan came out today firing and hit four balls hard, two of them went out and hit one soft that was still a single. So, I think this team takes it day by day, and when we play our game, no one can beat us."
Tyler McLoughlin (3-0) earned the win, tallying two strikeouts in the first inning as the Bulldogs employed 10 pitchers on the night.
The win comes a day after the Bulldogs completed the sweep at Florida over the weekend.
Georgia coach Wes Johnson said he's proud of how his team handles the early success.
"When you have a nice weekend like we did last weekend, in a lot of other sports you get to enjoy it a little longer," he said. "We had the bus ride to enjoy it, just like I told our guys when we got back here, it's over. You have to learn, in our game, it's everyday. Today was the most important game on the schedule because it was the only game on the schedule today."
