A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy was transported to the hospital on Friday after getting bitten by a dog.
That’s according to Sheriff Kevin McCook, who said the deputy was serving a civil paper.
The deputy was bitten in the arm and face after a dog lunged from behind the door when the homeowner opened it.
EMS and animal control arrived to render aid. The injuries were non-life threatening, but the deputy remains hospitalized.
The dog owners have reportedly been cooperative with law enforcement.
