A man who is wanted on murder charges in Florida was arrested by Hall County deputies Wednesday.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Wesley Ramone Knight led officers on a brief pursuit and manhunt around Athens Street.
At around 10 a.m. Wednesday, deputies spotted Knight’s vehicle before losing sight of it.
Deputies spotted him again on U.S. 129 and followed him to Monroe Drive.
Knight reportedly turned onto Monroe Drive and headed toward Athens Street before cutting through a parking lot.
It was then that Knight got out of his vehicle and ran towards Harrison Square Apartments. Moments later, other deputies arrested Knight without incident.
Knight was charged with reckless conduct, fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, and passing in a no passing zone. That is in addition to his hold from Florida.
When Knight got out of his car to run, it hit another parked car, and the Georgia State Patrol is handling that crash investigation.
Knight’s Florida warrant includes a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm out of Leesburg, Florida — about an hour north of Orlando.
