A man suffered a medical emergency on Sunday, which is to blame for a three-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Queen City Parkway and Aviation Boulevard in Gainesville.
The accident happened just after 5 p.m. when Juan Ramirez, 43, of Gainesville, suffered an apparent seizure and ran the red light while traveling eastbound on Aviation Boulevard. Ramirez’s car struck a passenger vehicle traveling southbound on Queen City Parkway through the intersection. The two cars then veered into the northbound lanes of Queen City Parkway, striking an SUV that was waiting at the light to turn left onto Aviation Boulevard.
Ramirez’s car eventually ended up on top of the passenger car.
Mr. Ramirez suffered non-life threatening injuries. The other drivers were not injured.
Queen City Parkway was closed for more than one hour while the Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash.
