Dry weather conditions continue to raise concerns and issues throughout northeast Georgia with fires over the weekend.
Banks County officials say a brush fire from a controlled burn grew out of control during, "Red Flag Day" conditions on Sunday.
Fire Chief Steve Nichols says in a press release that their crews were called to the 300 Block of Pine Lake Drive after 2:15 p.m. Sunday for a brush and woods fire. The flames would eventually spread to burn over 8 acres of brush.
Crews from Commerce, Bold Springs and Jackson County Fire departments aided in dousing flames over the following three hour period. No injuries were reported.
