White County Fire officials urges residents to avoid outdoor burning today (2/28) and throughout the weekend due to dangerous fire weather conditions.
The National Weather Service, Peachtree City has placed White County and all of North Georgia under High Fire Danger Conditions for Friday, February 28, 2025. In their Thursday afternoon weather update, the National Weather Service reported that an elevated fire risk will persist throughout the weekend as dry air (low relative humidity) returns, accompanied by locally gusty winds.
The recent White County Public Safety Department posting indicates that with increased fire danger in effect, we strongly urge residents to postpone all outdoor burning until conditions improve.
