With the final week of the regular season finally here, more than a few matchups on Tuesday will have major impacts on region titles and playoff seedings in the upcoming region tournaments for northeast Georgia area teams.
The Buford girls and boys (Region 8-6A) and North Forsyth girls (6-6A) have already clinched region titles. But more than a half-dozen boys teams and nearly a dozen girls teams are still in the running to claim titles and the top seed in their respective regions.
The marquee matchup will have the East Hall boys heading to Jefferson in Region 8-3A, with the two teams tied for first place. In Region 7-5A, Gainesville will play host to Milton with a chance to jump into a first-place tie with the Eagles heading into Friday's season finales.
Meanwhile, there are several more key showdowns around the area that could help position teams in the region tournaments.
