GoFundMe raises nearly $6,000 for Gainesville teen after shooting

By Will Daughtry News Reporter

After a Gainesville shooting on Saturday left a teen dead, the family has started a GoFundMe to aid in funeral costs and arrangements.

17-year-old Aristeo Ramirez was described by the family as “a cherished son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. His kindness, laughter, and love for his family touched the hearts of everyone around him.”

As of Thursday evening the fundraiser had $5,952 in donations, but organizer Arlette Ramirez has disabled new donations at this time.

“The loss of Aristeo has left a profound hole in the hearts of those who loved him, and we want to ensure his family can focus on grieving and healing, without the added stress of funeral expenses,” the description reads.

It goes on to say that even if you are unable to donate, thoughts, prayers, and shares are all valuable to the family during this time.
