JASPER, Ga. – White County picked up its first Region 6-3A win of the season Friday night in a 24-7 victory over Pickens.
Tripp Nix started things late in the first half on a 38-yard run that put the Warriors in front, 7-0. Noel Lammers doubled the White County lead midway through the third quarter on a 9-yard plunge.
Pickens answered right back with an 80-yard passing score to make the scoreboard read 14-7, but the Warriors took it right back down the field, allowing Lammers to score from two yards out to push the lead back out to 21-7. A Hayden Vandegriff field goal from 29 yards away with just over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter sealed the game.
The Warriors will host North Hall next Friday in a battle of teams currently 1-0 in region play.
