White County officials arrest a juvenile for alleged disruption of daily routines at a middle school

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A student from the White County Middle School is facing charges for the disruption of classes and activities at the school.

White County Sheriff Rick Kelley's office announced on Monday evening that they were alerted to a threat made toward White County Middle School that day, less than one week following the tragic results at Barrow County's Apalachee High School.

Sheriff Kelley said in a press release that their investigators were alerted to the threat made against White County Middle School, and as a result of their probe they apprehended a 13-year old, 8th grade student with the school.  That student has been arrested on two counts of Disrupting Operation of a Public School, and has been turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

No further details on the threat, or leads behind the case have been released.  Classes are scheduled to continue with all White County schools on Tuesday.
