MONTICELLO, Ga. – Despite trailing early on, Lakeview battled and defeated Piedmont Academy to open region play Friday night, 28-20.
The Lions trailed 13-7 after the first quarter but scored 21 straight points to take a 28-13 lead after three. Piedmont Academy scored a touchdown in the fourth, but the Lions were able to hang on and improve to 4-0.
Ryker Kohler had two touchdowns on the night, the first from 48 yards out before a 12 yard run late in the third quarter. Kyari Burch had a 55-yard pick-six, while NeSean Dorsey had a 26-yard touchdown reception on the night.
The Lions will host George Walton next week in region action.
