ROSWELL, Ga. — Buford scored the first 24 points of the night as they rolled past Roswell Friday night, 52-17.
Ethan Ervin started things quickly with a 77-yard touchdown run at the 10-minute mark in the first quarter. Four minutes later, Tyriq Green plunged in from seven yards to double the lead. Dylan McCoy finished off the first quarter with an 8-yard run before the Wolves took a 24-0 lead on a James Gregory 28-yard field goal.
After Roswell kicked a field goal early in the second quarter, Justin Baker got the Wolves back on the board with a 10-yard run before Green had a 102-yard interception return to push the lead to 38-3. Roswell got a touchdown to make the score 38-10 at halftime, but Buford scored twice in 30 seconds, scoring on a 23-yard pass from Dayton Raiola to Sam Harkness and a Chris Garland 21-yard pick-six to make the score 52-10 before the Hornets added a touchdown late.
The Wolves tallied 424 yards of offense with eight rushers totaling 280 yards on the ground.
The Wolves will travel to Douglas County next week.
