Georgia State Patrol (GSP) confirms that six people-two drivers and four passengers-were injured in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon in Lumpkin County.
Troopers from Post 37 Cumming responded to the crash on Town Creek Church Road at Christy Lane in Lumpkin County. Captain Michael Burns of the GSP says a Ram pickup truck was traveling north on Town Creek Church Road, negotiating a right curve when the unidentified driver failed to maintain lane, crossed into the southbound lane of travel, and struck a Nissan Titan truck, head-on.
The driver and passenger of the Ram, and the four occupants of the Nissan were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for their injuries. The driver of the Nissan had possible serious injuries because of the crash.
Names of the drivers and passengers have not been released. The GSP Collision Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the incident and have not announced if charges will be raised.
