The Georgia gas price average slightly declined at the pumps compared to a week ago according to AAA of Georgia.

Georgians are paying an average price of $3.14 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

The state average is 1 cent less than a week ago, 16 cents less than a month ago, and 46 cents less than this time last year.

Georgians are paying nearly $3.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a month ago.

“Gas prices are still on the decline but they're taking their sweet time this week, shaving off just a penny,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Looks like some travelers are seizing the chance for one last summer trip, causing a tiny bump in demand, thereby slowing the drop in gas prices.”

Commuters in Hall County are seeing an average price of just over $3.08 per gallon, with the highest average price for northeast Georgia found in Lumpkin County at $3.18 per gallon, and the lowest average found in Stephens County at $2.98 per gallon.

Since last Monday, AAA reports that the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline decreased by 3 cents to $3.33.
