Stone Mountain man facing drug trafficking charges in White County

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter
A Stone Mountain man is facing drug trafficking charges in White County following a recent traffic stop and uncovering of 30 ounces of Methamphetamine.

White County's Sheriff's Office social media posts indicates that deputies initiated a traffic stop last Monday night,  August 26 at around 9:00pm on Highway 115 West near Long Mountain Road for an obstructed tag and improper window tint.

Sheriff Rick Kelley says in the post that their K-9 dog Jelly was deployed and conducted an open-air sniff, which alerted officers on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.

Investigators say the search yielded the finding of the Methamphetamine, leading them to arrest the driver, 59-year old William Ausbrooks of Stone Mountain.  Ausbrooks now faces charges of possession and trafficking Methamphetamine for distrubution.
