The Towns County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Young Harris man for marijuana and methamphetamine possession after a two-week-long investigation.
The sheriff’s office said on Facebook that David Lee Thomas, 69 was arrested on Aug. 27 after Towns County drug investigators found marijuana and methamphetamine during a search of a home on Hwy 66 in Young Harris on Aug. 12.
Patrol deputies were called to the home regarding a possible intruder and could reportedly smell the odor of Marijuana and see drugs in plain view. Deputies called investigators to the scene and a search was conducted.
Thomas was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of marijuana.
The investigation is ongoing.
