DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — Chestatee took a pair of big Area 6-3A matches on Monday on the road in volleyball action at the Dawson County gym.
The Lady War Eagles took a thrilling three-set win over White County 25-16, 19-25, and 15-12 and then fought back from a set down to beat the host Lady Tigers 25-27, 25-12, 15-13.
The two wins kept Chestatee (12-5, 3-0 Area 6-3A) in first place in the early standings.
White County (13-3, 1-1 Area 6-3A) beat Dawson County in the nightcap but the loss to Chestatee snapped the Lady Warriors’ 12-match win streak.
For Chestatee, junior Natalie Sykes finished with 50 assists, 3 aces and 18 digs while senior hitter Valiree Schmus had 28 kills, 2 blocks and 25 digs to lead the way.
Senior hitter Kadence Wolfe added 21 kills, 5 aces and 16 digs, senior Libero Emily Graham had 20 digs, 3 assist and 2 aces, senior Payton Cable contributed with 7 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces, and senior Kaya Snow had 3 aces, 8 digs and 1 kill for the Lady War Eagles.
Chestatee is back in action on Thursday with a tri-match at Gainesville with the Lady Red Elephants and Habersham Central.
