By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

A Peachtree Corners man was arrested in Hall County Thursday night for several traffic violations and drug charges after he sped away from a sheriff’s office deputy and crashed his car.

The HCSO deputy was checking drivers for speeding near McEver Road and Lanier Islands Parkway when he attempted to catch up with the car driven by Jabril Miracle Pinkston, age 20, after the deputy checked his speed at 70 mph in a 45-mph- zone.

As the deputy activated his blue lights and siren, Pinkston allegedly sped away from the deputy driving on the wrong side of the road. Pinkston then lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the woodline near Lake Run Drive, according to a release from HCSO.

Deputies arrested Pinkston for traffic charges including DUI drugs, fleeing, reckless driving and speeding. Deputies also reportedly found  Pinkston in possession of five individually packaged THC edibles, a two-gram THC vape cartridge, 34 grams of marijuana that was packaged in 4.5-gram bundles, a partial pill identified as acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride and a full pill identified as oxycodone hydrochloride.

Pinkston faces a list of drug charges in relation to the alleged drug possession.

The Georgia State Patrol responded to investigate the crash. Pinkston remains in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Monday afternoon.
