FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Flowery Branch got in the win column with a 23-13 win over Habersham Central Friday night.
The Falcons jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first quarter on the back of a 1-yard touchdown run from Tyler Robinson and a 3-yard run by Jackson Prehar just two minutes later to take a 13-0 lead. A 31-yard field goal from Brooks Recinella at the end of the period got the 16-0 lead.
The Raiders finally were able to answer early in the third quarter when Antonio Cantrell found the endzone from 14 yards out to trim the lead to 16-6 before Paris Wilbanks got Habersham even closer early in the fourth with a 1-yard plunge, cutting the lead to 16-13.
However, the Falcons iced the game away with 1:55 left on a Griffin Harper 4-yard touchdown to get to the final score.
Flowery Branch tallied 211 yards of offense, all of which were on the ground, led by Harper's 176 yards on 25 carries.
The Falcons will travel to Forsyth Central next week, while Habersham Central will look to rebound at home against White County.
