PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. – A Wesleyan field goal with two seconds left to play was the difference as the Wolves took down North Hall, 24-21.
The Trojans took the lead early when Cole Cable caught a 39-yard pass from Smith McGarvey just three minutes into the contest, but Wesleyan answered as Ben Brown had a pair of touchdown passes in the first quarter to take a 14-7 lead.
McGarvey fought back for the Trojans, rushing in from five yards out early in the second quarter to tie the game, but Brown led the Wolves back down the field to take a 21-14 lead into halftime.
Neither team found the endzone until McGarvey found Cable for a second time on a 30-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth before the Trojans muffed a punt deep in North Hall territory late in the game, setting up the 26-yard field goal to win for the Wolves.
Cable finished with 111 receiving yards, while McGarvey was 12-for-18 for 132 yards. Alex Schlieman was 10-14 passing for 116 yards as well for North Hall.
The Trojans will travel to Cherokee Bluff next week in search of their first win of the 2024 season.
