A 15-year-old Gainesville teen is being charged as an adult after a home invasion Wednesday morning.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Angel Juarez-Coreno is facing charges of first-degree home invasion, armed robbery, and exploitation of an elder person — all felonies.
He is also charged with battery and hindering a 9-1-1 call, both misdemeanors.
Officials say that deputies responded to the home invasion after 11 a.m. at a residence on Oconee Circle.
Some deputies spoke with three female victims, while others set up a perimeter to search for the suspect.
About an hour later, they found Juarez-Coreno on Oconee Drive.
The preliminary investigation alleges that Juarez-Coreno walked into the home without permission and flashed a bright light into their eyes.
Officials say he slapped one victim in the face, causing a nose bleed and threatened to shoot everyone in the home before stealing a television and a victim’s phone as she was calling 9-1-1.
The victims were 86, 76, and 65-years-old.
Following his arrest, Juarez-Coreno was transported to the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center by HCSO personnel.
